Polaris adds three ATVs sized and made safe for little helpers.

Polaris introduces its first three youth-sized ATVs to provide kids - ages 6 to 15 years - with safe hands-on experience. They will allow your children to help around the farm, while preparing them to safely drive full-size ATVs.

The company has placed safety as a top priority. With each purchase of either a Scrambler 50, Scrambler 90 or Sportsman 90, a youth-sized helmet is supplied at no charge, as is a mandatory Polaris ATV safety training course.

Built-in safety. All three machines include safety features such as a removable ignition key, engine-stop tether cord, full floorboards, high visibility whip flag, heat shields, electronic throttle safety control and a speed limiter control that parents can set.

"For years youngsters have envied adults such as their parents who got to enjoy the Sportsman riding experience. The new Sportsman 90 [or Scrambler 50 or 90] lets young riders experience Polaris ATVs and develop their riding skills," says Mitchell Johnson, Polaris ATV division general manager. "Riding [this size vehicle] will help young riders learn how to safely enjoy ATVs."

New models. Designed for riders ages six to 11, the new sporty Scrambler 50 is powered by a 49-cc, two-stroke, fan-cooled engine with oil-injection. For 12 to 15 year olds, Polaris offers a style choice of either the Scrambler 90 or utility-looking Sportsman 90, both powered by an 89-cc, two-stroke, oil-injected engine.

All three machines feature rear wheel chain drive, automatic CVT transmission, electric start with kick-start backup, A-arm front suspension with 2 in. of travel, swing-arm single shock rear suspension with 2 in. of travel, 35.4- or 37.8-in. wheelbase, and 211- to 238-lb. dry weight. Price: $1,900 for the Scrambler 50; $2,100 for the Scrambler 90; and $2,200 for the Sportsman 90. For more information, contact Polaris, Dept. FIN, 2100 Hwy. 55, Medina, MN 55340, 763/542-0517.
