Wireless weighing

A NEW wireless weigh scale is designed for air suspension vehicles hauling grain, silage, fertilizer and other ag goods. The Smart Scale from TruckWeight allows an operator to monitor gross and axle weights from up to 500 ft. away. It is easy to retrofit to existing equipment and can be installed in just 30 min.

The Smart Scale uses sensors to measure temperature and pressure changes in a vehicle's air suspension and relays these measurements to a handheld receiver through a low-powered radio transmitter. The sensors produce an axle weight and a gross vehicle weight measurement that's within 0.3% of the actual gross vehicle weight, or about 150 lbs., according to the manufacturer. It includes three components: the Smart Sensor with integrated antenna and ⅜-in. fittings, a tee fitting for the air line, and wireless handheld receiver.

Suggested list price is $550 for each sensor and $490 for the wireless receiver. Contact TruckWeight, Dept. FIN, 1600 Bedford Hwy., Bedford, Nova Scotia B4A 1E8, Canada, 877/757-7888, visit www.truckweight.com or www.freeproductinfo.net/fin, or circle 156.
