Compact utility work

A new utility tractor from John Deere will tackle small jobs around the farm. The 2210 compact utility tractor features mid and rear PTOs to operate a variety of attachments either separately or simultaneously. Operators can use the mid-PTO position for a mid-mount mower deck or use the mid- and rear-PTO positions to use a snowblower and salt/sand spreader simultaneously.

A 23-hp, liquid-cooled diesel engine powers the small tractor with good fuel economy, quiet operation, low exhaust emission levels and quick starting, according to Deere. The tractor features hydrostatic steering and comes standard with mechanical 4-wd. The base price for the 2210 is $10,199. Skid-resistant bed liner

Penda Corporation says it engineered its new Pendaliner SR Skid Resistor bed liner to keep cargo from sliding around and damaging a truck bed. The liner features a skid-resistant, nonabrasive material. Its sidewalls are 50% thicker than spray-on liners, according to the company. The liner is manufactured from detailed, model-specific molds to ensure a tight fit in the truck bed that looks like a custom fit. The bed liner's high-gloss finish and color are impervious to ultraviolet-induced fading. Price: $299. Contact Penda Corp., Dept. FIN, Box 449, Portage, WI 53901-0449, 608/742-5301, visit www.pendacorp.com or www.freeproductinfo.net/fin. Safe solar charging

A new solar-charge, controller-desulphator called the BatteryMinder model SCC005 will make sure storage batteries are charged in the shortest time and kept at full charge indefinitely without overcharging. VDC Electronics developed a patented high-frequency pulse circuit that continually desulphates the battery's storage plates, allowing the batteries to safely accept the highest rates of charge in the shortest time. The BatteryMinder is part of a battery maintenance system that includes the SolarGuard battery condition monitor and high-efficiency 5W solar panel. The complete system is available for $139.95. New track loader

The new T300 Bobcat track loader with an operating capacity of 3,000 lbs. is the largest track loader in the company's lineup. The machine's 17.7-in.-wide rubber tracks produce 4.1 psi of ground pressure for top flotation and tractive effort. An 81-hp, turbocharged, liquid-cooled Kubota engine powers it. The T300's lift height is 126.4 in., and it follows a vertical lift path that allows it to easily load trucks. The new track loader is built on the same basic mainframe as the Bobcat S300 skid-steer loader and A300 all-wheel steer loader.

Suggested retail price: $46,500. Contact Bobcat Co., Dept. FIN, Box 3064, Cedar Rapids, IA 52406-9851, 701/241-8700, visit www.bobcat.com or www.freeproductinfo.net/fin.

Monitor the power supply

The PQ1 Power Quality Relay is a power quality monitor that alerts you to disturbances on the power line that could damage or disrupt automated feeding systems, milking systems and other sensitive electronic devices.

The PQ1 relay detects all common power quality events such as voltage sags, interruptions, voltage swells and high-frequency impulses. It interfaces with AC power in and relay contacts out. Electricians can use the PQ1 as a diagnostic tool, or it can be built into fully automated processing systems as part of a remote diagnostic system.

The relay is UL listed, CE marked and TUV certified. Price: $276. Contact Power Standards Lab, Dept. FIN, 3908 Adeline St., Emeryville, CA 94608, 510/658-9600, visit www.PQRelay.com or www.freeproductinfo.net/fin.

Snow-removal blade

Take an aggressive approach to snow removal by using the Strongbox box blade from Degelman Industries. The blade comes in lengths ranging from 8 to 20 ft. and moldboard heights of 38 and 50 in.

The Strongbox easily mounts on all loaders and skid steers with standard Degelman mount attachments. Unique, reversible skid shoes mount flush with the side plate, allowing users to clean close to walls and curbs. A reversible design, coupled with abrasion-resistant steel, provides extended wear and no maintenance. A high-density, rubber cutting edge gives the blades the flexibility to clear snow without damaging the surface underneath.

The Strongbox sells for $2,670 to $6,500. Contact Degelman Industries Ltd., Dept. FIN, Minot, ND, 800/845-0724, visit www.degelman.com or www.freeproductinfo.net/fin.
