The Line of new McCormick tractors at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, KY, attracted buyers and sitters. Growers anxious to spend some extra cash created a brisk business, while “sitters” enjoyed the “heritage” tractors. McCormick is among a group of manufacturers that is building new, high-tech equipment under a brand name that evokes nostalgia among buyers. After all, the McCormick name has been part of the farm equipment industry since 1831.
