Closer look at New Holland’s new tracks for high-horsepower tractors

At a recent Media Day at New Holland headquarters in New Holland, Pa., journalists had the chance to get a closer look at the company’s new track option on its T9 series high-horsepower tractors. First launched at farm shows last fall, the new SmartTrax track option consists of four belted rubber tracks designed to reduce soil compaction and slippage created by these 600-plus-hp tractors. They also can provide for a smoother ride over bumps compared to wheels, the company says.

    Case IH releases new fuel-efficiency ratings and remote-monitoring system

    Case IH today made two formal announcements pertaining to its tractor line at the 2012 Commodity Classic in Nashville, TN. The first was in regard to newly released results of Nebraska Tractor Test Lab fuel-efficiency tests, which the company says set new industry records on fuel savings. The test report shows that the 600-hp Case IH Steiger 600 tested 8.4 percent more fuel efficient than the competition’s biggest tractor at maximum drawbar pull, and 10.5 percent more fuel efficient at 75 percent drawbar pull maximum power....More
