SYNGENTA EARNINGS UP

Seed and ag chemical giant Syngenta reported that its sales were up 18% in the first half of 2005, with earnings per share up 25% to $9.54. The company attributes the growth to a strong U.S. corn market, 20% growth in new product sales and contributions from recent seed company acquisitions including Garst and Golden Harvest.
