Sygenta Wins Court Cases

Sygenta received two favorable rulings in recent court cases with Monsanto.

An arbitration panel ruled to dismiss Monsanto's efforts to terminate license agreements dating from 1999 that provide Syngenta the rights to access and use certain corn lines from Monsanto-owned Holden's Foundation Seeds.

An Iowa district court jury decided in Syngenta's favor in a complaint about illegal employee interference by Monsanto. The complaint stated that a Monsanto-owned seed company, Midwest Seed Genetics, intentionally acted improperly in recruiting sales representatives from Garst Seed, a Syngenta-owned company. Garst was awarded economic and punitive damages.
