Hurt by ethanol

I don't think much of your ethanol. [See “The heck with ethanol critics,” December 2007, page 4.] It may be good for some people. But it is hurting cattle people bad. Feeder calves went down $0.30 a pound in the fall from last spring because feed is so high.

Fertilizer is high because of so much corn being raised.

But I guess no one thinks of the hurt it is doing.

1,000% agreement

You will probably get plenty of comments on your editorial that appeared in the December 2007 Farm Industry News. I, for one, agree with your comments 1,000%! Our Project Development Manager, Sara Wilcox, made the same comments at a Brock seminar she spoke at this past summer and was not treated graciously for her opinion.

IH Socket Set

I have an International Harvester socket set that I purchased when an IH dealer went out of business in my area. I need replacement parts for a ½-in. drive ratchet.
Aaron Freese
Nebraska

According to John Henigan, Case IH customer relations representative, both Case and International Harvester had a program years ago offering a lifetime warranty on tools provided by either company. To find replacement parts, contact your local Case IH dealer or parts manager. To find your nearest dealer, go to www.caseih.com and find the Dealer Locator. Then enter your zip code and the site will generate a list of the five Case IH dealers closest to you. The Web site has a “contact us” feature providing e-mail information. Or you can call the Case IH Customer Relations Department at 262/636-6011.
