Internet-capable radio

Aug 1, 2007 12:00 PM

According to FreeWave Technologies, its FGRplus Industrial 900 MHz radio is the only radio of its kind that supports Internet communications protocols, industrial-grade wireless security and serial communications. The new radio, which has a line-of-sight range of 60 miles, is expected to be used primarily in technology packages developed by other manufacturers, including companies offering automated steering, irrigation and facilities management and monitoring products.

FreeWave states that the addition of Internet capabilities to the radio communications package hints at things to come, including the ability to monitor radio systems using this capability from anywhere in the world with Internet access.

The suggested list price of the radio is $1,400. Contact FreeWave Technologies, Dept. FIN, 1880 S. Flatiron Ct., Suite F, Boulder, CO 80301, 303/381-9298, visit www.freewave.com or www.freeproductinfo.net/fin, or circle 153.
