MEGAPIXEL CELL PHONE

Oct 1, 2006 12:00 PM

THE NEW Samsung SCH-A990 cell phone features a camera that takes 3.2-megapixel photos — said to be the highest resolution available with a cell-phone-based camera. The fully featured cell phone also captures up to an hour of video. It supports Bluetooth wireless connectivity and high-speed (EVDO) wireless networking, plus full music, video and game capabilities. The user holds the device like a phone when making a call, but rotates the screen 180° and holds it like a camera to shoot photos. The camera features flash, auto focus, a built-in picture editor, PictBridge Digital Printing, a zoom lens and a TV-out port for viewing photos on a television. A personal organizer with calendar, calculator, to-do list, currency converter, alarm clock, world time and a stopwatch also are built in.

The SCH-A990 is available from Verizon for $349.99 with a new two-year customer agreement. Visit www.Samsung.com or www.verizonwireless.com, or circle 196.
