CYBER-SHOT CALLING

Oct 1, 2006 12:00 PM

SONY ERICSSON'S new K790a cell phone is the first to carry the Cyber-shot brand. So it's no surprise that lurking behind the sleek velvet black (or “allure brown”) candy bar phone form is a 3.2-megapixel camera, including a 2-in. diagonal display. When held vertically, the phone has the look and feel of a cell phone. When held horizontally, slide the lens cover downward and the phone will remind you of its namesake Sony camera. The camera includes auto focus, a Xenon flash, red-eye reduction, a 16-digital zoom and image stabilizer technology to offset camera shake. The phone includes standard features such as a 1,000-entry address book, customizable ring tones, Bluetooth, e-mail, Web browsing, a speakerphone and more.

The K790a is expected to retail for $499, and possibly less, depending on phone plans. Contact Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications (USA) Inc., Dept. FIN, 7001 Development Dr., Research Triangle Park, NC 27709, visit www.sonyericsson.com or www.freeproductinfo.net/fin, or circle 198.
