All-day welding
A new welder/generator provides stick, TIG, wire and pipe welding for farmers who need to weld every day. The Ranger 305D is totally enclosed and includes a 12-gal. fuel tank to last all day. Powered by a 3-cyl. Kubota D722 diesel engine, it delivers 10,000 peak watts of 120v/240v AC generator power — enough to run lights, tools, and a pump and weld at the same time.

Backup power
Miller Electric now offers a gasoline-powered, three-phase generator called the Bobcat 3 Phase designed to provide backup power to run irrigation systems, pumps and other operations. The generator provides 11,000W of peak 480-VAC three-phase power and 10,000W of peak 120/240-VAC single-phase power. It uses a Kohler Command 20-hp gas engine with a 10-gal. fuel tank that allows 8 to 10 hrs. of use. Suggested retail price: $3,499. Circle 195.
Miller Electric also introduces the new Spectrum 625 plasma cutter. Weighing just 57 lbs., the portable unit will cut ½-in. steel with a handheld torch. At a rated output of 40 amps/140 VDC at 50% duty cycle, it will cut steel up to ⅞-in. thick. Designed to be reliable in rugged conditions, the cutter features “wind tunnel technology” that helps prevent dust and metal particles from damaging internal components. Price: $2,045.

Two-level shops
Wick Buildings introduces its Attic Truss Building series designed to blend with the steeper roof pitches on some of today's newer homes. The series is ideal as a backyard shop, storage building or hobby building.
Wick Attic Truss buildings feature an upper level for storage or living quarters. “People are looking for additional space, and having that second level allows you to have more storage space for less square footage,” says Tami Newman, marketing coordinator for Wick Buildings. “So you can build a new farm shop or storage building and have it be more cost effective because you can build a building with a smaller footprint and still have as much space as a bigger building because of the upper level.”
