Next Roundup Ready product

Sep 1, 2007 12:00 PM

The next generation of Roundup Ready soybeans, called Roundup RReady2Yield, recently received U.S. and Canadian regulatory approvals. Monsanto is waiting for approvals from other countries key to the U.S. soybean export market before releasing the product for sale.

The company says its field trials show Roundup RReady2Yield soybeans produce a 7 to 11% yield advantage over the first-generation Roundup Ready lines.

The Roundup RReady2Yield soybeans will be “an important base from which Monsanto will introduce its portfolio of next-generation technologies in soybeans, including dicamba-tolerant and intrinsic yield soybeans,” the company reports.
