NITRAGIN BUYS AGRIBIOTICS

May 1, 2006 12:00 PM, FROM THE EDITOR KAREN MCMAHON

NITRAGIN RECENTLY purchased the Canadian company Agribiotics to build its portfolio of yield-enhancing technologies for various crops. Nitragin developed LCO Promoter Technology that is marketed under the Optimize brand for early-season health benefits in legume crops such as soybeans and alfalfa. Agribiotics offers yield-enhancing technologies for nonlegume crops such as corn and wheat.

“The fusion of these companies reflects Nitragin's effort to make technologies from around the world available to growers who operate in an increasingly global market,” says Scott Fleetwood, Nitragin vice president of sales and marketing.
