Soybean premium on non-GMOs

Dec 7, 2007 2:49 PM

Asoya just announced that its 2008 production contracts for 1% ultralow linolenic soybeans will pay a premium of $1.25/bu. The Iowa City, IA-based, seed company markets the soybean oil from the non-GMO soybeans to food companies. Food companies want the oil because it contains zero trans fat. Asoyia points out that growers planting Asoyia soybeans do not pay technology fees on the non-GMO varieties. For more information, call 877/276-9421, or visit www.asoyia.com.
