Monsanto is offering a savings of $10/bag for growers interested in planting "stacked" YieldGard/Roundup Ready corn hybrids from DeKalb, Asgrow or participating regional seed companies that license the technologies. Contact your seed dealer, call 800/768-6387 or visit www.farmsource.com.

AgReliant Genetics LLC, located in Westfield, IN, is the name of the new U.S. company that will sell the brands Great Lakes, AgriGold, LG Seeds and Pride. The company is a result of a merger between Groupe Limagrain of Chappes, France, and KWS SAAT AG of Einbeck, Germany.

BASF and Dow AgroSciences have agreed to expand the availability of the Clearfield Production System (formerly known as IMI-corn from Cyanamid) herbicide-tolerant trait to the seed corn industry. Dow already markets the trait in hybrids sold through its Mycogen Seeds business unit. Now it can produce and sublicense the technology to third-party seed companies through its crop genetics marketing subsidiary Advanced AgriTraits LLC. The purpose of the pact is to combine BASF's herbicide-tolerant crop expertise with Dow AgroSciences' insect protection traits and hybrid development skills.
