New strip-till unit

Mar 6, 2007 3:24 PM

Unverferth says its new strip-till unit eliminates skipping for efficient and maximum tilling. Featuring 6,000 lbs. of trip pressure, the Zone-Stripper provides accurate single-point tripping when the unit releases.

Made of double-frame steel, the strip-till unit includes a 6- x 6-ft. rear bar for added durability. A 20-in. ripple coulter adds 1,500 lbs. of pressure for cutting tough residue, while alloy steel blades on the auto-reset shank cut 4 to 12 in. deep. Parallel-link mounting and adjustable offset coulters located on each side of the shank provide a uniform strip. The Zone-Stripper’s offset coulters can be modified according to desired tillage width, depth, angle and pressure. The coulters are available in a straight or concave blade with a notched or smooth edge for easy row placement.

Optional features include dual coulter-mounted spike-tooth row cleaners for added residue clearance and shank-mounted liquid or dry fertilizer attachments that aid in one-pass nutrient placement. A rear hitch with tongue and ball swivel connection combines the fertilizer with tillage.

Price of a six-row unit with dual 13-wave coulters is $13,960. Optional row cleaners are $400 per row. Optional fertilizer shank attachments are $100 per row. The optional rear pull hitch is $1,950.
