Digital Safe

The Personal Pocket Safe uses sophisticated encryption techniques to protect sensitive electronic data — such as bank statements, security codes, insurance policies, heirloom photos, Social Security numbers, and tax returns — in an epoxy-coated, PIN-protected USB thumb drive. The 1-gigabyte drive, which the manufacturer claims will hold 70 years of financial statements, includes software with formats for personal vital records.

A user-settable PIN number controls access to the drive, which automatically shuts down for two minutes after three failed PIN attempts. According to the manufacturer, an imposter using password-guessing software would have to work 10 years (24 hours a day/7 days a week) to break your code. An epoxy coating causes internal memory to self-destruct if removal is attempted.

The suggested retail price is $49.95. For more information, visit www.takeanyware.com.
