K-State holds field day where vertical tillage is main topic.
On Monday, May 23, the K-State Southwest Kansas Research-Extension Center is hosting a spring field day, where vertical tillage equipment will be one of the main topics.
DeAnn Presley, extension specialist in K-State’s agronomy department, has invited all of the vertical tillage manufacturers to bring their implements to the field day and talk about them for a few minutes. You can get up to speed on these tools by reading our March cover story, which featured Presley. Our coverage also includes a photo gallery of vertical tillage implements along with specs and prices to help you compare your options.
The field day will be held from 2 to 7 p.m., May 23, at the K-State SW Research-Extension Center, 4500 E. Mary St., Garden City, KS. Supper follows at 7 p.m. Ingersoll, manufacturer of tillage implement components for several companies, is sponsoring the event.
Presley, along with other KSU researchers including graduate student Tony Whitehair, are working on a research project that involves comparing a few models to no-till corn production. For more information about this research, contact Presley at 785/532-1218 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
