Monsanto plans to offer in 2014a dicamba-tolerant trait called Roundup Ready 2 Xtend. The new traitwill alsobe stacked withMonsanto's Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield trait. Thedouble-traited seed productwill be the first double stack forsoybeans in the industry, according to Monsanto. The company made the announcementat the 2012 Commodity Classic, in Nashville, Tenn.

Accompanying the new dicamba soybeantrait will be a dicamba and glyphosate herbicide premix called Roundup Xtend.Roundup Xtendwill be available for application before planting and over-the-topin season.The new herbicide offers dual modes of action to help control glyphosate-resistantweeds.

Monsanto anticipates offering the new trait and herbicide in 2014. Once approved, the trait will be available in all Monsanto soybean brands and through licenses to independent seed companies. Visit www.monsanto.com.
