New Software programs for the Case IH Pro 600 and New Holland IntelliView Plus II displays have added several enhancements to guidance systems, including the ability to see satellites and their positions in real time to aid with diagnostics. A new guidance pattern uses a wizard prompt system to automatically determine in-fill AB lines as field boundaries are driven. There's also a new automatic combine header width adjustment for accurate point-row yields and new 20° and 45° perspective field views.
The displays now also work with Raven and Rawson controllers to drive variable-rate seeding, fertilizer and other crop inputs.
For 2009, the companies also will offer updated AFS/NH 262 and AFS/NH 162 GPS receivers, which replace the previous 252 and 100 models. Base models of the new receivers have list prices of $3,000 and $1,000, respectively. In its base form, the 162 receiver provides accuracy at the WAAS level for use with combine yield monitors. A $1,000 unlock option opens the receiver for guidance. The 162 also is able to relay field speeds to planters and other implements, eliminating the need for a separate radar system. The 262 receiver, which can be upgraded from its base-price WAAS accuracy to OmniStar HP/XP and RTK accuracies, also is set up to provide speed information to planters and seeders.
Beginning in 2009, all Case IH Patriot self-propelled sprayers will leave the factory autosteer ready or with full steering packages installed. Patriot 3320, 3330 and 4420 sprayers will use Pro 600 monitors to control guidance systems. The sprayers also will be factory ready to use the Trimble Field Manager or FmX displays as well as the Ag Leader Insight monitor with Direct Command for application control.
