Trimble purchases Farm Works

Trimble Expanded its information management capabilities by purchasing Farm Works Software from its parent company, the privately held CTN Data Service, Hamilton, IN. Trimble says the acquisition will help it offer its customers more capabilities in the precision farming arena. The terms of the purchase were not available.

Farm Works software works with a wide range of file formats and hardware used in the agricultural equipment business. The software captures field event data from an in-cab display or handheld computer for record keeping. It also records many activities — from field chemical and fertilizer applications to vehicle monitoring and cost accounting. Software also is available for livestock operations.
