CrescoAg offers precision farming data management tools

CrescoAg is offering new crop decision and risk management tools to held farmers handlt the large amount of data created from precision farming technologies.

CrescoAg LLC has introduced a suite of crop decision and risk management tools to help growers tame the large amount of data generated from precision agriculture technologies and turn it into knowledge that can increase productivity and profitability.

The company’s products and services will accept field mapping, soil sampling, recordkeeping, automated crop monitoring and “whole farm” research plot data from all major hardware or equipment brands. The tools will translate this data, store it and make it compatible with other systems.

“CrescoAg will use a proprietary data collection system named MesoFarm that will allow users to benchmark their crop production performance to farms of similar size and production practices,” says Chism Craig, vice president for research and development at CrescoAg. “Because all data is anonymous and based on actual field data, users can get an accurate, unbiased comparison that can drive future management decisions.”

For the 2012 growing season, CrescoAg products will primarily be available through retailers and crop consultants throughout the MidSouth and Southeastern U.S. For more information, visit www.crescoag.com.
