Dawn Equipment planting sensor adjusts on-the-go for soil hardness

A new Dawn Equipment planting sensor called the Foresight Ground Hardness Sensor provides constant, real-time measurement of soil hardness. The unique feature of the Foresight is the design that allows the sensor to account for forward planting speeds. This lets the planter anticipate changes in soil conditions and make adjustments just before it plants the seed. This results in perfectly consistent depth control, according to Dawn.

The Foresight allows direct measurement of soil hardness over a continuous spectrum, permitting precise data logging. It does this by taking hundreds of measurements per second and averaging them over 1/4 second. This information is processed and sent to the GFX and RFX to control row unit down pressure for accurate planter depth control.

Dawn offers other hydraulically controlled planter attachments, including the GFX Floating Row Cleaner and RFX Planter Down Force Actuator. The Foresight can be integrated with all existing GFX and RFX installations.
