Optional equipment

An optional floating hitch is now available for series VI five-section Kent field cultivators up to 48 ft. wide. Four castering gauge wheels, mounted on the front bar of the cultivator, provide more precise depth control in rugged and rolling terrain. The series VI has improved clearance around the wheels and from front to back, now measuring 131 in. with the shanks spaced 28 in. apart. The frame is constructed of 3- × 4-in. high-tensile tubing. Transport width is 13 ft. 9 in. Price range: $5,003 to $27,212. Contact Kent Mfg. Co. Inc., Dept. FIN, Box 126, Tipton, KS 67485, 785/373-4145, www.kentmanufacturing.com or circle 196.

Maintain a deeper depth control and handle heavier residue with the new 1,000-lb. shank assembly option for Wil-Rich's 4800 rigid hitch chisel plow. The assembly allows more trip point pressure and strength. Flat shanks were replaced with 1¼ × 2-in. on-edge shanks to form a narrower edge for narrower soil contact. Expansion springs were replaced with two ½-in. compression springs to minimize breakage from large obstacles. The assembly requires a 50° sweep and features 30 in. of underframe clearance with a 1-ft. trip clearance.

Units range in cut widths of 10 to 45 ft. List price: $299/shank. Contact Wil-Rich, Dept. FIN, Box 1030, Wahpeton, ND 58074, 800/688-3300 or circle 195.
