Corn planting races to completion

The first reports of completed corn planting are coming in. A central Illinois grower e-mailed today that he just finished planting his largest corn crop acreage ever and he did it in six days. He anticipates an excellent crop because it was planted just prior to the optimum planting date for his area of May 10. He also noted that in his neighborhood, some growers planted corn in early April. Those seeds rotted and the growers just finished replanting those fields....More
