Prescription Map Formulas

Farm Works

Hamilton, IN – Farm Works is proud to release formula-based prescription generation with its Pro module. The new formula-based prescription generation provides growers and agribusinesses powerful yet easy-to-use prescription generation tools. Prescriptions can be created off of any type of precision agriculture data, including grid or management zone soil tests, yield and any other data. Users select the product they wish to vary (such as a fertilizer) and then select attributes that they wish to use (such as pH test results). They can then enter the desired formulas to create the variable rate application map.

Formulas follow standard formatting such as what spreadsheet programs use and can be written for use with a wide list of variable rate application devices. These formulas are simple and intuitive. Formulas are saved in XML file formats and can easily be exchanged between different users, as would be the case if a crop consultant were to create formulas to give to a customer.

Formula-based prescriptions are included in Version 2010 of Pro. Current Farm Works customers who are on an Update Service Plan receive this new functionality for free as a part of their Update Service Plan.
