Family Living Center

Feb 10, 2010 12:00 PM

Maybe you are looking for a slightly smaller version of some of the big machines on the floor of the National Farm Machinery Show — say 1:64-scale perhaps? Or how about procuring serious tractor history souvenirs for family and friends who couldn't make it to show? The Family Living Center at the National Farm Machinery Show offers everything from authentic farm toys and collectibles, to clothing, jewelry, and indoor and outdoor home décor.

Matsen Miniature Farms, for example, offers custom tractors, implements and farm toys built from scratch at 1:64 scale. The Classic Tractor Fever booth will again be featuring items of interest to tractor enthusiasts.

Jane Dyer has been coming to Louisville to share her wares with National Farm Machinery Show attendees for 18 years in the Kate's Korner Kupboard booth. She offers placemats, towels, children's books, crafts, and clothing items representing popular tractor lines such as John Deere and Case IH.

“Everybody has a favorite tractor, so I try to have something for all the tractor enthusiasts,” she explains. “More and more families are coming to the National Farm Machinery Show. The kids are excited when they can get clothing with a picture of the tractor that their father or grandfather has.”

Dyer says the Family Living Center offers her a chance to show her products to a large number of people during the course of the show. “I've had to double my booth space over the years because of the interest from customers. We have a number of customers who come back year after year,” she says. Dyer's Kate's Korner Kupboard store is located in Kalamazoo, MI. She and her husband David also have a farm near Comstock, MI.

The Family Living Center is set aside from the main exhibit area to provide visitors with a casual shopping experience. Located in the East Hall, it is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. every day during the show's run. See a list of Family Living Center exhibitors at www.farmmachineryshow.org/familyLivingCenter.aspx.
