New Rootworm Trait

The EPA recently granted registration approval for Syngenta's Agrisure RW trait for control of rootworm in corn. Agrisure RW is being sold individually and in stacks with Agrisure GT (glyphosate tolerance) in corn hybrids from NK Brand, Garst, Golden Harvest and other brands for planting next spring. Agrisure RW is a modified synthetic Bt gene for control of northern, western and Mexican corn rootworms.

Syngenta is awaiting approval for Agrisure CB/LL/RW for corn borer and rootworm control with Liberty herbicide tolerance. The company also has applied for registration on a quad-stack hybrid called Agrisure GT/CB/LL/RW that includes glyphosate tolerance.
