Sinar AP 6060

The Sinar AP from CSC Scientific provides moisture, temperature and test weight of crops by sensing capacitance, weight and temperature of the sample. Results are provided within six seconds and can be printed or downloaded onto a computer. It holds seven calibrations for different crops. You can order it pre-calibrated or you can calibrate it yourself using MoistureNet software or by transferring calibrations from another Sinar moisture analyzer. Each instrument comes with a loading hopper and user manual. Price: $2,775.

FP Auto 6080

The FP Auto, also from CSC, can analyze capacitance, test weight and temperature of a sample in six seconds. Moisture content ranging from 1 to 35% can be measured. Up to 92 calibrations can be entered and held using the keyboard. The FP Auto comes with the analyzer, a loading hopper, carrying case, printer, bulk density cylinder and MoistureNet software. Price: $6,300.

GAC 2100 Agri

Dickey-john has modified its commercial grain moisture meter, used at U.S. grain elevators, for large-acreage farmers. The GAC 2100 provides moisture, test weight and temperature readings for eight crops that the user chooses. It is pre-calibrated using calibrations developed by the USDA and may need to be physically recalibrated every two to four years, depending on use. It meets accuracy standards developed by the National Type Evaluation Program. Price: $3,300. Contact GSF Inc., Dept. FIN, 5225 N.W. Beaver Dr., Johnston, IA 50131, 800/627-6702.
