Paddle tines

The Paddle is a tine replacement system for combine reels and is designed to increase harvest yields when dealing with light, sparse or special crops. The tines are 6 in. wide and feature a three-tooth design to lift and feed crops that standard tines miss. Only a portion of the standard tines needs to be replaced with Paddle tines to provide a complete sweep of the header with each reel rotation. It should take less than one hour to replace enough of the standard tines with the Paddles to improve harvest results.

The Paddles are packaged ten to a box. Reel size and original tine spacing determine how many boxes of Paddles are required. Price of each Paddle: $4.50 to $6.00. Contact HCC Inc., Dept. One-pass tillage

M&W has redesigned its Earthmaster for improved performance. Rear shanks dig deep to lift and shatter compaction while the tandem disc cuts and mixes crop residue from 0 to 8 in. deep. The disc gang angles are adjustable from 3° to 18° for greater flexibility when incorporating residue.

Shanks can be spaced at 20-, 24- or 30-in. rows on heavy-duty, 8- × 14½-in. ripper mainframes. An optional coil tine leveler works well even in heavy clay soils. Price starts at $25,724. New toolbar technology

Orthman Manufacturing offers folding toolbar technology for 18- and 24-row farming systems.

The new 1800 series cultivator bar combines the advantages of both mounted and drawn equipment through a semi-mount hitch design for 18-row, 38-in. and 24-row, 30-in. configurations. The 62-ft. working width allows an operator to cover up to 500 acres/day. When it is time to move on, the 1800 folds to a narrow, 20-ft. transport width. Price: $35,500.

The 1900 series stacking planter bar provides a 60-ft. working width along with the ability to stack fold without emptying planter boxes. The 1900 series can accommodate 18-row, 38-in. and 24-row, 30-in. configurations. A semi-mounted design is used in conjunction with lifting gauge wheels to decrease the transport length while reducing the tongue weight carried by the tractor. Price: $38,000.

Both the 1800 and 1900 series toolbars feature Orthman's new Star Command GPS implement guidance system in place of mechanical row markers. The company claims that the Star Command system will accurately control the placement of the implement and provide true implement steer capability. The system uses the WAAS signal in combination with Real Time Kinetic corrected signals. It can be used for row-crop planting and cultivating, bed listing, small grain seeding and spraying.

The Star Command system is available with the Star Command recon mapping system and is compatible with Outback guidance systems.

Price of the Star Command steer system with a four-blade system and recon mapping: $38,000. Contact Orthman Mfg., Dept. FIN, Box B, Lexington, NE 68850, 308/324-4654, visit www.orthman.com or www.freeproductinfo.net/fin, or circle 191.

Lateral header tilt system

Hillco designed its new LT-100 lateral header tilt system for use on John Deere combines that were not factory-equipped with Contour Master, John Deere's own lateral header tilt system.

The LT-100 mounts directly to the front of the combine's feeder spout, while moving the header ahead only 6 in. Full integration into the combine's electrical and hydraulic system is possible because the LT-100 uses original John Deere cab controls. The LT-100 can be installed to operate on manual operator input, or it can be upgraded using John Deere's Contour Master circuit board to provide fully automatic header height and lateral tilt control.

The LT-100 is available for all John Deere 9000, Ten and Fifty series combines. Price: $4,495. Contact Hillco Inc., Dept. FIN, Box 399, Nezperce, ID 83543-0399, 800/937-2461, visit www.hillcoweb.com or www.freeproductinfo.net/fin, or circle 190.

Dust control

Experience a clear, dust-free view from the driver's seat of your combine, thanks to the EZ View Poly Last Dust Control System from Poly Tech Industries. No matter what crop you are harvesting, EZ View fans direct dust away from the front of the combine, making it possible to safely run the combine at higher speeds with an unobstructed view. The product features a unique drive system that does not use hydraulic or electric motors. Two fans are driven by the existing feeder house chain.

EZ View tips forward for easy access and takes 30 to 60 min. to install on John Deere combines. Caterpillar and John Deere STS series units will soon be available. Price: $1,749. Lower compaction

Reduce soil compaction with Bron RTU series rubber track undercarriages. The RTU series tracks are available in four models ranging from 20- to 40-ton capacities. The series features a track-type loader undercarriage, oscillating track frames and sealed bearings. Heavy-duty fabricated steel track frames have a quick-change universal attachment point. The rubber track undercarriages can be custom-designed to fit almost any application, according to Bron. New or used belt options are available.

Prices vary according to belt options and model size, and range from $12,000 to $22,500. Contact RWF Industries, Dept. FIN, 873 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock, Ontario N4S 8Z4, Canada, 800/263-1060, visit www.bronrwf.com or freeproductinfo.net/fin, or circle 188.
