Continental crate

The Continental cattle-handling crate from Ritchie Farm Equipment has been updated to offer an easier-to-operate, quieter model.

The new crate has a redesigned yoke door for quiet operation of the door catch. Rubber bump stops on all side doors also reduce noise so cattle are less likely to get spooked. The door offers complete access to both sides of the animal for grooming. Contact Ritchie Farm Equipment, Dept. FIN, Whitehills, Forfar, Tayside, Scotland, DD8 3EE, or call 01307 462271.

By automatically tapping the boot of your feed bins, the Binwacker from Hickory Lane Farm keeps finely ground feed flowing to completely empty the bins.A sprocket attaches to the shaft of the bin's auger, and the Binwacker's chain trips a spring-loaded lever that gets a small mallet tapping. The mallet taps the bin boot two times per second to move even high-fat and high-oil feeds, according to the maker. Price: $295. Contact Hickory Lane Farm, Dept. FIN, 527 E.
