Landec Ag, the largest direct marketer of corn seed with its Fielder's Choice Direct brand, just purchased the second largest direct seller of corn seed, Heartland Hybrids. Under the purchase agreement, Landec Ag will acquire the assets of Heartland Hybrids of Dassel, MN.

Heartland Hybrids was formed in 1996 and holds a regional presence in the northern Corn Belt. Landec Ag was formed in 1997 with the purchase of Fielder's Choice Direct, the ninth largest hybrid seed company in the U.S. It is based in Monticello, IN.
