New supersized twine spools from AGCO

AGCO’s new Giant Baler Twine Spools reduce the number of times you have to stop and refill twine on large square balers.

More About:

Reloading your large square balers with baler twine takes time away from harvest. But new Giant Baler Twine Spools from AGCO are designed to reduce the number of times you have to stop and refill. Compared with standard spool sizes, the new AGCO Advanced Giant Spools increase the amount of running time by as much as 38 percent and reduce the amount of time spent loading baler twine, the company claims.

The baler twine contains a polypropylene mixture called Ultra Grip that reduces slip and breakage and forms a knot with 80 percent more grip at the knot than regular twine provides, the company says. As a result, bales created are 15-20 percent denser than typical bales, AGCO adds. UV stabilization protects the twine from light degradation.

The AGCO Advanced Giant Spools of baler twine, designed to fit only the new generation of Massey Ferguson and Challenger large square balers, are available in three sizes: 6000/350 to 6,000 ft. long with 350-lb. tensile strength; 5500/400 to 5,500 ft. long with 400-lb. tensile strength; and 5000/450 to 5,000 ft. long with 450-lb. tensile strength. The new spools will be available for next year’s harvest.
