9 Series Round Balers
John Deere's new 9 Series round balers includes 12 new, heavier-duty models. The new large round balers, which include additional Class III and IV models, have larger cams and bearings in the pickup on premium models, Diamond chains, and many other enhancements to increase durability and productivity of the balers while making service and maintenance easier. Deere also added silage-special balers to the Class IIi and Class IV baler lineup, giving customers options for larger bale sizes in silage, especially new 5- x 6-ft. bales.

Self-Propelled Windrower
John Deere replaces the 140-hp A400 SP windrower with two new models for 2013. The new models are W110 (110 hp) and W150 (150 hp) self-propelled windrowers. Interchangeable draper heads from 15 to 40 ft. and auger heads from 14 to 18 ft. are available. These new models are designed to provide increased visibility to the cutting platform, superior crop cutting and conditioning with auger and draper platforms, and more consistent windrow performance for all types of hay and small grain crops.

M Series Mower-Conditioners
Two new sickle cutterbar mower conditioners have been added to the John Deere lineup. The M160A and M180A mo-co models are center pivot, pull-type machines. They feature double-knife sickle cutterbar platforms, which are also used on the auger heads of the new John Deere self-propelled windrowers.

Self-propelled Forage Harvesters
In an effort to meet Interim Tier 4 emissions requirements across all equipment, John Deere introduces six new self-propelled forage harvesters for 2013. These new machines feature new, more fuel-efficient and powerful IT4-compliant engines, factory-installed dual tire options, a new spout turning system, and kernel processing technology. The new series of machines includes the 7180, 7280, 7380, 7480, 7580, 7780 and 7980 models.

KernelStar Technology
John Deere acquired the new KernelStar Technology for forage processing from the German company CAWI. KernelStar, a state-of-the-art concept, is based on a patented "bevel" disc design, which allows for more intensive treatment of the kernels when compared to either the conventional cylindrical roll or disc designs on the market. The new design uses contoured intermeshing discs that provide increased surface area to enhance the crop processing.
John Deere has released its 2013 lineup of equipment for the hay and forage market. The machinery includes 12 new round balers, two new self-propelled windrowers, two new mower-conditioners, six new self-propelled forage harvesters and new forage processing technology for the self-propelled forage harvesters.
