In a move to better serve its hay and small grains customers, John Deere announced this week that it has formed a strategic agreement with Canadian-based MacDon Industries to expand its lineup of hay and forage equipment.

Under the agreement, MacDon, which specializes in pull-type and self-propelled windrowers and specialty and pick-up headers, will manufacture select models of John Deere-branded self-propelled windrowers, including draper and auger headers, and pull-type auger mower conditioners. John Deere will also continue to manufacture some of its models, offering farmers an extended lineup of equipment.

John Deere dealers will service the equipment. 

MacDon currently markets three self-propelled windrowers from 110 to 220 hp as part of its M Series. John Deere makes three self-propelled windrowers from 140 to 200 hp called the A400, R450, and D450.

More details about the availability of the new products will be announced later this summer.
