Trimble buys Tru Count

Dec 1, 2008 12:00 PM

Trimble Announces that it is purchasing the assets of Tru Count Inc., a privately held company in Ames, IA. Tru Count manufactures air and electric clutches that automate individual planter row shutoff. These clutches are now factory installed on most major brands of new variable-rate-seeding planters. Farm Industry News awarded its 2008 FinOvation award to Tru Count clutches for their innovative design.

The Tru Count clutches are compatible with Trimble's GPS guidance technology.

“With the asset acquisition of Tru Count, we have an opportunity to partner with an industry leader in technology that presents an exciting growth opportunity for us,” says Erik Arvesen of Trimble's Ag Division.
