New from Farmfest

Oct 1, 2000 12:00 PM, John G. White

Double disk ripper Harley Ellington, product manager for Wil-Rich, says farmer input was the primary impetus for the design of the company's new V957 DDR Double Disk Ripper. "Too much trash was being left on top," he says. "We've got the solution."

The V957 combines the cutting action of a disk with the deep penetrating work of a ripper. Hydraulically controlled disc gangs allow for individual depth adjustment on the go. Walking tandem axles maintain an even depth penetration. The disc gangs have 28-in. notched blades mounted on 15-in. spacings. The gangs are offset, allowing for more uniform cutting, mixing and incorporation of crop residue.

Behind the discs, the ripper is equipped with auto-reset, 11/4-in., high-strength, abrasion-resistant steel shanks with a chromium carbide shin. The "smooth action" shanks have 5,000-lb. trip pressure with 16 in. of trip clearance. Contact Wil-Rich, Dept. FIN, Box 1030, Wahpeton, ND 58074, 800/688-3300, www.wil-rich.com or circle 200.
