Steerable tracks on Balzer grain carts
Balzer Inc. introduced a steering grain cart on tracks, a first for the ag market according to the company. The front and rear steerable tracks turn as tight as a tire with 10 degrees of steering radius per track assembly. The four tracks offer lower compaction because their footprint is larger than that of a cart with two tracks. The tracks are designed to pivot on the center axle, and a double tandem system allows the idlers and bogies to divide the weight properly. Grain carts with loads of 2,000 bu. are easily maneuverable with the four-track system. Capacity of the grain cart shown is 1,550 bu. Other Field Floater 4 carts are available in 1,325- and 2,000-bu. capacities. The retail add-on price for tracks on a Field Floater 4 is $29,750.
