Direct injection upgrade

Independent farmers and farmers who do custom spraying are increasingly installing direct injection systems that give spot spray capabilities to their normal spraying operations. The systems save time by reducing the number of trips into the field. And there's less need for tank mixing, rinsing and added antifoaming agents.

Direct injection is becoming more reliable, easier to use and less expensive to buy. Installation typically adds a console, some cables and an injection module with a small add-on tank. One of the latest advances is a direct drive pump that eliminates the need for power-robbing belts and pulleys on the unit. Raven Industries claims its new direct drive SCS Sidekick direct injection system uses 15% less power than its previous Sidekick model.

The new direct drive SCS Sidekick is designed to work with an existing controller and can be added to anything from an ATV to a big RoGator. A kit with a 24-gal. tank costs $3,971.
