For 2009, Leica Geosystems introduces iNEX mapping and guidance touch-screen display. The display, which plugs into the Leica mojoRTK console, is one of two new products resulting from the purchase of the Australian company Rinex Technology in late 2008. The other is a 13-section section-control device, the Leica AS7500, formerly sold in the U.S. as the Rinex 7500. It lists for $1,950.

With the introduction of the 8.5-in. iNEX display, which lists for $4,995, Leica now offers a real-time moving map display, with coverage and overlap mapping. The display controls standard mojoRTK features, including parallel guidance functions and the Virtual Wrench Web-based remote service and diagnostics tool.

In addition to field-mapping functions, the iNEX display offers several new optional features, including 30-section boom section control (a $1,495 unlock), true contours ($1,000), a pivot pattern ($1,000) and complete field replay to retrace a pattern in the field ($1,000).
