Weed-pulling robot

Meet BoniRob, a field robot developed in Germany for work in the field. The robot uses a scanner to detect rows and to detect obstacles. It is equipped with devices to measure plant health and soil conditions, including compaction. It also will do some spraying. And the best: It will pull a weed...but only when someone back in the office on a computer clicks the OK button. Companies involved in this project include Bosch for the sensors and navigation equipment; Amazone for the chassis, and Iotec Electronic Solutions for engineering the robot.
Spray systems adjust for low-drift areas

Amazone earned special recognition from SIMA for the development of the Amaselect Pro spray booms fitted with multi-ject nozzles. The system automatically adjusts the nozzles and spray for low-drift areas via CANbus so the operator does not leave the cab.
Massey Ferguson 7626 tractor

The Massey Ferguson exhibit in AGCO's display area was mobbed with people. The music and the electric-red MF 7626 tractor drew the crowd.
DJs for Massey Ferguson

Two women DJs were in the Massey Ferguson exhibit working the crowd with music and farmer interviews. The interviews were projected on screens.
AGCO's Valtra display

Valtra, also located in the AGCO exhibit, displayed one of its Finnish-built tractors, which are customized for each customer.
Lamborghini white

Lamborghini added a model dressed in white to commemorate the brand's new look — white. Yes, all the Lamborghini tractors are now painted white.
Lamborghini utility line

Even the smaller tractors in Lamborghini's utility line are painted white.
Wined and dined

In Europe, it is common to see exhibitors serve drinks and food to important customers in the booth during the show. Of course in France, the refreshments must include wine.
Carulle sprayer

Operators don't need a ladder to enter the cab of this Carulle self-propelled sprayer. The cab is hydraulically lowered to the ground. And then the driver may raise the cab to the best height for application.
Berthoud sprayer

The cab on the Berthoud sprayer also raises and lowers. Berthoud is a French manufacturer.
Improved direct injection

The company Berthoud earned special recognition for developing the Clean Sprayer system that eliminates many disadvantages of direct injection. The system allows the use of three products simultaneously or one after another without the driver leaving the seat. Also, the dose can be changed without changing the volume per acre of the mix.
Crab steering on Belgium sprayer

Belgium manufacturer Beyne introduced a new a self-propelled sprayer called Anaconda. The sprayer featured crab steering, but no movable cab.
French Tecmona sprayer

French manufacturer Tecnoma also displayed a self-propelled sprayer with a moving cab (plus crab steering). Will we see this in the U.S.?

The SIMA farm show in Paris featured new technology, including a field robot in the Amazone exhibit and height-adjusting cabs for self-propelled sprayers, found in several company displays.

A highlight of the show was AGCO's Massey Ferguson exhibit with two DJs playing music and conducting interviews, which were projected on big-screen monitors around the booth.

Lamborghini showed off its new color of equipment, and Amazone promoted its new smart sprayer nozzles.
