This is the text of Al McQuinn’s keynote presentation to the 7th International Conference on Precision Agriculture, July 28, 2004, Minneapolis, MN. Following this speech, McQuinn was presented with the first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award for Precision Agriculture from the University of Minnesota, the Precision Agriculture Center, the Department of Soil, Water and Climate, and the College of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences.
