PINPOINT ACCURACY

Feb 15, 2006 12:00 PM

UNTIL NOW, harnessing lasers for long-distance measuring required an investment of several hundred dollars for true laser technology, or a willingness to accept less accuracy for the lower price of laser-guided sonic measuring devices. The new FatMax TLM 100 TruLaser distance measurer from Stanley is accurate to ¼ in. at 100 ft. for just less than $100. Features include a large LCD graphical display, an area-measuring function, a calculator and onboard memory to store measurements. It is powered by a 9v battery. TLM 200 and TLM 300 models are accurate to ⅛ and 1/16 in., respectively, and have price tags of $229 and $449.
