Wide drift control

A new boom design for Redball's 3-pt., front-fold sprayer reduces drift on booms up to 80 ft. wide. The new boom has a stationary outer wing that adds strength and allows use of a broadcast spray hood on the larger booms. Available on the model 655 sprayer, the boom allows spraying under more conditions. The sprayer retails for $14,000 to $20,000, depending on boom widths and options. Contact Redball, Dept. FIN, Box 159, Benson, MN 56215, 877/332-2551, or www.redballproducts.com.

Whose farm is better?

Compare your farm practices and finances with those of other farmers in your county, state or region through a new online service called Crop Check. The North Central Soybean Research Program launched the new program last winter. Growers can confidentially identify and compare their practices and tabulate results from a pool of participants' farm records. Individuals are not identified. The free service is available at www.cropcheck.org. For more information, call David Wright at the Iowa Soybean Association at 800/383-1423 or send him an e-mail at dwright@iasoybeans.com.
