The latest Claas Lexion Series combines feature a soundproof cab with easy-to-reach controls, optimum legroom, iPod playback control, USB port and Bluetooth technology. The new, ergonomic CMOTION multifunction handle (shown) lets you place your hand naturally on the driving lever in a relaxed, palm-down position, similar to how you’d hold a computer mouse.
A returns window in Claas Lexion cabs lets the driver see the combine header and returns. The operator can look directly into the tailings returns over his or her right-hand shoulder to better optimize the machine and improve the capacity and quality of the grain.
A refrigerator under the passenger seat actively cools up to 45 quarts, providing plenty of space for drinks. Claas says the unit is easily accessible for the driver and eliminates the need for an additional insulated lunchbox in the cab.
Claas says its Vista cab, introduced in 2008 on the Jaguar 900 Series forage harvesters, is “designed for driver comfort first.” The latest generation is 6 in. wider and 6 in. deeper with a 2-in. raised cab roof to allow for more legroom, head space, and space between the operator and trainer’s seats. Powerful H3, H9 and xenon headlamps light up the front and sides of the machine for nighttime visibility.
The curved cab body with larger windows and narrower pillar placement make for a quiet ride and all-around visibility. The corner posts are extra deep to passively reduce the natural acoustic noise swirl inside the cab. A single, centralized, full-color Claas Electronic On-Board Information System adjusts with the armrest to provide fingertip control of basic functions such as spout positioning and intake operations.
Claas says the Jaguar was the first forage harvester in the industry to feature a cool box in the headliner. On hot days, the cold air from the air conditioning cools beverages to keep the driver hydrated and refreshed.
