New size to beat

Oct 1, 2008 12:00 PM

U.S. Farms continue to get bigger, and manufacturers keep building larger combines to harvest more acres faster. Now New Holland and Case IH continue the trend by each introducing new Class 9 combines. They claim their models are now the largest combines in North America.

This New Holland CR9080 combine boasts 523 hp, a 10,075-sq.-in. cleaning area, two 22-in.-dia. rotors, and a spacious cab. Suggested retail price is $385,000. For more information, contact New Holland at 888/290-7377 or visit www.newholland.com/na. And see our November issue for information on the new Case IH Axial Flow 9120 combine.
