Business as usual

The Iowa Power Farming Show, held in early February, appeared recession-proof. Its exhibitor space was sold out, and large crowds flocked to the Des Moines, IA, location. Companies reported brisk business from growers who seemed more cautious than last year but still in the mood to buy. Equipment geared to strip-till and precision farming were hot on the must-buy list.
