Pioneer names Optimum GAT product line

Feb 23, 2009 12:18 PM

As Pioneer Hi-Bred gears up for the anticipated launch of its Optimum GAT corn and soybean products in 2010 and 2011, the company has announced that it is giving a name to its lineup of new traits, products and programs: Optimum Brand Innovations.

“Through Optimum Brand Innovations, Pioneer will provide unique, value-added products and services to meet individual grower’s needs and maximize crop potential,” according to Tracy Linbo, Senior Marketing Manager, Optimum GAT trait for Pioneer.

Individual traits and programs from Pioneer will carry unique brand names beneath the Optimum brand umbrella. First up is the Optimum GAT herbicide tolerance trait. Pending regulatory approval, corn with the Optimum GAT trait is scheduled for commercial release in 2010, followed by soybeans in 2011.

Pioneer will also include Optimum AcreMax 1 insect protection as part of the family of Optimum Brand Innovations. Future brands will include product advancements from the Pioneer proprietary pipeline of input traits. The company also says that the Optimum brand also may be used to identify marketing programs accompanying Optimum brand traits.

“The Optimum Brand Innovations will include differentiated input traits, products and programs that provide producers solutions to maximize crop potential,” Linbo says. “We will have additional products under the Optimum brand Innovations as they move through our research and development pipeline.”
