THE EUROPEAN Union's (EU) recent approval of Monsanto's YieldGard Rootworm Corn for feed use should help open grain markets in Europe that were not open before. This approval should “increase the number of places where growers can sell their single-trait YieldGard Rootworm grain,” says Phoong Tang, Monsanto's business manager for biotech grain.

The EU Commission also gave import, feed and processing approval of YieldGard Plus. This stack of YieldGard Rootworm and YieldGard Corn Borer is also under review for use in food and food ingredients.
